Finally made it back into town this afternoon. It was a mad 9 hour dash from Montana all the way to Colorado, with stops only for gas and a bite to eat for breakfast. Thankfully we were both still really dehydrated, otherwise the nearly 120 ounces of various fluids we consumed today would of had us stopping every couple of miles or so.

It was a wonderful trip and I'll try to fill in some of the highlights as things settle down again and there is time to sort photo's and think back over all that happened. Lots of beautiful scenery, fun hikes and plenty of play time in the river. A little sore from all of the paddling, but really doing okay considering.

Had time to unpack this afternoon and sort through the dirty clothes and get all the gear put away. Got a nice shower and shaved some of the hair off of my face. After sitting for so many hours in the truck I thought it would be fun to go on down to the park this evening and do a little folk dancing outside of the boathouse pavilion. Very pleasant evening, warm and a bit humid, but not to bad overall. It felt good to work some of the kinks out.

Took a look at the photo's on the camera and some of them look pretty decent, but I need to move a few files on the hardrive before I can download all of them. For the time being here is one that caught my eye.

This is the view from our 3rd and 4th nights campsite... I think I may have actually been sitting in my chair when this was taken. We had a wonderful thunder and lightning show later on.... always fun when viewed and experienced from the inside of a tent. At the top of the cliff was once an awesome natural arch known as the 'Eye of the Needle'. It unfortunately collapsed back in 1997 or 99, but part of it is still up there if you look closely.
