Sitting somewhere to the south of Erie Pennsylvania at the moment taking a break from behind the wheel. Started at 7:00 this morning and it's now 7:30 p.m. here... though that does include another 1 hour time change.
Good day for driving, and there has been a lot of it. Whizzed by the south side of Chicago around noon and on through Toledo at 4. Cleavland, Ohio went by at about 6:30 so most of the traffic had already died down. Good thing as there are some funny things there that happen to the interstate... like the right hand curve at the lake that drops the speed down to 35mph. That's always fun when 5 lanes of traffic are trying to pull that off and you're stuck pulling a trailer through it all. Talk about white knuckles. Will have to come back to the 'heartland' of America at some point, (maybe on my way back to Colorado next summer), as there were lots of things I saw just from the highway that merit a closer look. If not then, perhaps two years from now when a couple of us plan to come back up to NY and canoe the Erie Canal.
Going to try to put in another hour or so before quitting tonight. I'm down to under 600 miles left to Montpelier, but Emma says it will still take me about 11 hrs to get there. Will see how I feel once I get up again and how long it is before I find somewhere to pull over. No photo's tonight, just to tired to think about it. Perhaps in a day or two.
