Sitting here in a McDonald's eating breakfast and taking advantage of their Wifi and air conditioning. Only 10:30 here and already it is over 90 degrees out there.

Needed to come into town for some last minute grocery shopping before my friends George and Marge show up this afternoon. Need to figure out what to do for dinner this evening that is quick and easy and doesn't require using the oven or even the stove if possible. I'm thinking some type of salad with maybe grilled chicken on it and some fruit for desert. Will figure it out once I'm in the store though.

Had a nice time driving around the countryside last night with my sister and her husband Mark. We only saw 4 elk, all cows and calf's, but hundreds of deer and more turkeys than you can count. Seems like every hen turkey has anywhere from 4-12 chicks apiece with her. It's fun to sit and watch them chase grasshoppers out in the fields. Here is a picture of a few that were close up enough to get a picture of as well as a couple of deer photo's.

Here we have 3 hen turkeys with what I count as 26 chicks between them. I have seen hundreds of groups just like this along the river beds and out in the fields. I worry more about hitting one of these with the truck anymore than I do about hitting a deer. Hitting one of these would be like hitting a 10 pound bowling ball, only with feathers.
Here are a couple of white tail deer that stood still long enough for a photo. Most of the time they are long gone with their signature tail waving behind them. The one standing is a young buck, probably 1 1/2 years old while the one in the back is a young doe.
A white tail doe and her fawn. Note that the fawn still has it's spots. The doe is ready to take off again while the fawn was still trying to get her to stand still long enough to nurse. Pretty cute.
