Made it back into Florida by early evening last night, after a long drive back down across the whole state of Georgia. A nice evening, but to late to go get the trailer and get it all set up. Stopped in at a cheap hotel off of the highway for one last night out. This hotel had to be the worst I've stayed in for a long time. The only saving grace was that the shower was hot with a hard spray with plenty of hot water. Otherwise it is one place I'll never stay again no matter how cheap it is.
Up early this morning and back on the road. I went back into town for a couple of hours and had a leisurely breakfast and connected up to the Internet for a couple of hours. Finally left just before noon and headed back down to the RV place where the trailer was stored. No problems there except that they had moved it while I was gone, something I had not been expecting. The only real problem was that it was a bit harder to back it out of where they had left it than it had started out to be. Got the truck reloaded though and the trailer hitched on with no problem.
Drove the dozen or so miles up the road to Paynes Prairie SP for the next 3 days. Had gone online last night and made reservations for a couple of days. Had hoped to be able to stay over the weekend here, but every spot was already reserved. Will call up the state park over near Orlando tomorrow and see if they are going to have anything available. They normally work on the reservation system also, but they are currently undergoing renovations so they aren't taking reservations over the net. Hopefully they will have something open and I can move over there for the next week or so.
Got the trailer set up and opened it all up and turned the fans on. It was okay overall but needed a good airing out after sitting in the sun for the last couple of weeks. Took a short nap on the couch to make up for my shortage from last night after which it was off to the big city to pick up a few staples. Had to go get milk, eggs, cheese and bread etc as I had gotten rid of everything before leaving. The fridge is now plugged back in and making cold air. The ice cube trays are full and should be frozen by the morning and there is enough food in the trailer to get me by for a little while. Still need to go pick up some more fresh fruit and veggies, but otherwise I'm set for a bit.
Surprisingly, it feels good to be back "home" again. I guess there was a bit of homesickness going on and it will certainly feel good to be back in my own bed again. Looking forward now to some more new adventures, and need to start making plans for what to do 3-6 months from now.
